Welcome to LOX
The container shipping industry needs futureproofing through increased efficiency, sustainable environmental impact, safety, and visibility for the involved parties. LOX Container Technology is an industrial provider of systems to enable the container shipping industry to take the next step in achieving these things. We are a vital link in the value chain to digitalize container shipping and handling.
With the advancement of technology, automation, digitalisation and the collection and sharing of data is now accelerating. Our strategy is to provide, in addition to hardware and software for automation of container twist locks, significant customer benefit through the unique position with the remote-controlled twist locks through an organized collection of valuable data.
Visibility and data sharing is at the core of the container transport stakeholder chain, as well as efficiency and safety. Modern communications and cloud technologies enable this while supporting the business case. At LOX Container Technology, we leverage our expertise and experience to give you products and systems to become remote-controlled, digital, and futureproof.
The intermodal container supply chain shipping industry is itself on a big journey to automation, digitalisation, and data sharing. Let us provide you with the systems for remote-controlled twist locks to give you a tailwind.
The RCL system minimizes idle time in the harbour in port or in the terminal for your vessel, train, or truck. This in turn minimizes the emissions of stationary ships in your organization’s mode of transport by strengthening your business case and enables large savings in emissions and power consumption.
DIGITALIZATION & EFFICIENCY
The RCL system uses advanced wireless communication technology, allowing communication between each individual lock, your mode of transport, and terminal. The RCL system stores data related to the specific lock.
Data collected by the lock can be used to improve performance, plan maintenance, track movements and usage of the locks. This potentially enables new working procedures for container locking devices as the technology is implemented widely.
Remote operation of container locking devices is an important step towards fully automated container handling services. Adopting the system allows for significant further streamlining of the lashing, loading, and unloading process, changing the working process for personnel and the risk of human error. It increases the efficiency of the container handling process, making it faster, cheaper, and safer. Allowing increased efficiency and speed of loading operations.
Loading and unloading containers are quicker using the RCL system. This allows your vehicles to spend less time in port, the terminal, or at the station by reducing port or fees. Thus, strengthening your business case by transporting more containers in less time, increasing revenue. The RCL system reduces or eliminates the need for stevedores, resulting in cost savings from reduced personnel, mitigates risks and reduces losses from human errors while loading/discharging.
By allowing digital tracking and monitoring of the twistlocks, the RCL system will allow you to manage your stock of twistlocks, applying lifecycle management and pre-emptive maintenance to minimise the total cost of ownership.
For the Terminal Operator, the increased speed improves the overall efficiency of the cranes, allowing a terminal to manage more containers with the same basic equipment. The RCL system also allows efficient use of vertical tandem lift (VTL), to further improve efficiency.
Shipping Company - Increased Revenue
Faster loading/unloading due to:
Vertical Tandem Lift
Shipping Company - Reduced Cost
Less fuel consumption
Less direct labour costs
Less port fees: fixed, variable
Terminal Operator - Increased Revenue
Increased through put of containers due to:
Shorter berthing time
Tracking of containers
Terminal Operator - Reduced Cost
Less direct labour costs
More efficient use of current resources
Reduces risk of costly manual mistakes
The RCL system improves the safety of the container handling process. During container handling, the remotely operated lock reduces or eliminates the need for stevedore interaction, mitigating the risks and reducing the occasion for accidents.
The RCL system has an extremely robust construction and durable mechanism, to prevent failure when under load. The locks can easily be checked, by computer and/or by a controller, to ensure that all vessel locks are locked before moving out of the port or the terminal, as well as checked for details of the latest service. The locks are fitted with emergency manual release, similar to existing twistlocks.
Increased Safety at Sea
Fewer containers lost at sea
Removes hazardous manual release and lashing on deck
Reduces risk related to difficult working conditions
Increased Safety On Land
Automated operations lead to less manual intervention
Operator role shifts from ‘execution’ to ‘control and surveillance'
